Subclass 482 – Marine Technician Pathway

The Subclass 482 (Temporary Skill Shortage) visa allows Australian marine businesses to sponsor skilled overseas technicians where there is a genuine skills shortage.

Marine Talent Australia works with authorised OEM dealer networks and marine service businesses to support ethical, employer-led sponsorship pathways for experienced marine technicians.

WHO THIS PATHWAY IS FOR

This pathway is suited to experienced international candidates with skills in:

  • Marine mechanical and outboard engine servicing
  • OEM dealership environments
  • Diagnostics, repairs and warranty work.

Opportunities may exist with authorised dealers and marine service businesses across metropolitan and regional Australia.

HOW THE PATHWAY WORKS

  • Employers identify a genuine skills need
Australian marine businesses confirm demand for skilled technicians where local supply is limited.
  • Marine Talent matches suitable technicians
Marine Talent Australia screens and introduces experienced marine technicians aligned to employer needs and authorised OEM dealer networks.
  • Employers interview and make offers
Employers manage interviews and make employment offers directly to suitable candidates.
  • Visa processes managed by registered migration agents
Where sponsorship proceeds, visa advice and applications are managed by CMATZ or another registered migration agent engaged by the employer.

Important note

  • Marine Talent Australia does not provide migration advice
  • Sponsorship and visa outcomes are employer-led and not guaranteed
  • All migration advice is provided by registered migration agents only
