General Skilled Migration – Marine Pathways

Overview

Australia’s General Skilled Migration (GSM) program provides permanent and provisional visa pathways for skilled workers where occupations are in demand.

Marine Talent Australia supports the marine industry by connecting skilled marine professionals with employers, education providers and registered migration agents to explore skilled migration options aligned to industry needs.

Who this pathway may suit

General Skilled Migration pathways may be relevant for experienced marine professionals, including

  • Marine Mechanical Technicians
  • Boat Builders and Composite Trades
  • Marine Trades with recognised qualifications and experience
  • Candidates seeking long-term or permanent pathways to live and work in Australia

Eligibility depends on skills, experience, points testing and government policy settings.

How Marine Talent supports this pathway

Marine Talent Australia does not provide migration advice. Our role is to:

  • Engage with marine employers to understand workforce needs
  • Support industry-aligned skills and employment pathways
  • Introduce suitable candidates to employers and education partners
  • Work alongside registered migration agents for visa advice and applications

Where appropriate, skilled migration processes are managed by CMATZ or another registered migration agent engaged by the candidate or employer.
